ASLAN LifeTimeRemove DFP42 Monomeer 80mic. White Matt

ASLAN LifeTimeRemove DFP42 — 80 µm White Matt Low-Tack Removable Print Film

ASLAN LifeTimeRemove DFP42 is a matte white monomeric PVC film, 80 µm thick, with ultra-removable low-tack adhesive. Designed for temporary indoor graphics, wall decals, and POS displays—removable without residue even after prolonged use.

Key Features

  • Matte, white soft-PVC face film ~80 µm thick for low reflection and clean visual finish.
  • Ultra removable, low-tack acrylic pressure sensitive adhesive.
  • Double-sided PE-coated, silicone release liner (~144 g/m²) ensures flatness and stable feeding in printers.
  • Compatible with solvent, eco-solvent, latex, UV-curable inks; screen printing possible with proper curing.
  • Adhesion strength: ≈ 3.0 N / 25 mm immediately after application; ≈ 8.0 N / 25 mm after one week.
  • Wide operational temperature range: application from ≥ 15 °C; service from −30 °C to +80 °C.
  • Chemically resistant in short-term exposure to petroleum oils, greases, aliphatic solvents, mild acids & alkalis.

Frequently Asked Questions

How “temporary” is temporary? How long can DFP42 be used without leaving adhesive residue?

The DFP42 is specifically engineered for removable, temporary applications. ASLAN states that the film can be removed without residues even after extended indoor use. However, the actual duration depends on several factors: the type of surface (smooth, sealed vs. porous), exposure to heat or sunlight, environmental conditions like humidity, and how well the film was applied (properly cleaned surface, curing of ink). For best results, test beforehand, especially on painted or textured surfaces.

What surfaces are best suited for this film?

Smooth or lightly textured surfaces are ideal: glass, lacquered wood, varnished surfaces, wood veneer, wallpaper (including wood-chip / solid wallpaper), painted walls. Avoid very rough, very porous surfaces or surfaces with loose texture that may compromise adhesion or make clean removal difficult. Always perform a test on the actual surface.

Which inks are compatible, and what precautions must I take?

Compatible with solvent, eco-solvent, latex, and UV-curable inks. Screen printing inks also work if cured properly. Key precaution: ensure inks are thoroughly dried or cured prior to bonding and curing, because wet or undercured inks can “bleed” into adhesive, soften it, or lead to adhesion failures or lifting. Also consider environmental exposure: humidity and temperature can affect adhesive performance until fully stabilized.

What are the recommended temperature ranges for applying and using the film?

Application temperature is minimum ~ 15 °C. For optimal adhesion, higher moderate temperatures may help. Once applied, the service temperature range is wide: from about −30 °C up to +80 °C, making it robust for indoor environments and even some transient exposure outdoors or in variable temperature settings. But prolonged exposure to extreme heat or UV may reduce performance or make removal harder.

What is the film’s thickness, and how does that affect usage?

Thickness is about 80 µm. That’s relatively standard for monomeric PVC films used indoors. This offers a balance: enough rigidity to handle in printers and during application, yet flexible enough to conform to slightly irregular surfaces. Thicker films might offer more durability, but may also cost more and be less conformable; thinner may compromise handling or print feel.

How strong is the adhesive, immediately and over time?

Immediately after application, adhesion is about 3.0 N/25 mm. Over time (roughly one week), this increases to around 8.0 N/25 mm. This means that the material grabs enough initially to stay in place, but gets stronger as it sets. This behavior helps prevent lifting or peeling later while still allowing clean removal.

Is this film suitable for outdoor use?

ASLAN designed DFP42 mainly for indoor temporary applications. It can handle some outdoor conditions (e.g., sheltered areas, short durations) insofar as the surface, exposure, and environmental stress allow. But for long-term outdoor use (direct sunlight, heavy weather), you may see issues: adhesive strength changes, potential fading, difficulty in clean removal. For extended outdoor signage, a product specifically rated for outdoor permanence is recommended.

Does the film or printed image fade under UV exposure?

Lightfastness is rated at DIN 53 388, non-fade grade 7-8 on the wool scale—this is quite good for indoor applications. But, over time, direct UV exposure (sunlight through glass, unshaded windows, etc.) may still lead to gradual color fade or degradation. If high UV exposure is expected, use UV-curing inks, proper overlaminates or UV-protective coatings.

What is the procedure for clean removal without residue?

Removal should be done gradually, pulling from one edge at an angle. Applying mild heat (hot air gun, warm room) can help soften the adhesive to assist clean peel. Removal is clean on smooth, firm surfaces. On porous, textured, or poorly sealed surfaces, some adhesive residue may remain—these surfaces may need gentle cleaning afterwards. Use mild detergents or adhesive removers if necessary.

How should I store the film to maintain quality?

Store rolls in a cool, dry place: temperature between 15-25 °C, relative humidity around 50-60 %. Keep rolls standing vertically or in specially designed hanging racks to avoid pressure points or deformation. Before use, inspect roll for any damage or distortion. If storage conditions are poor (too hot, too cold, too humid), material may get creased or adhesive altered.
